The Location of Applecross:
The Peninsula of Applecross is located on the West coast of Scotland opposite the Island of Skye.
The name Applecross refers to the Peninsula and not, as is commonly perceived, the community of Shore
Street. Applecross is bounded by Loch Torridon to the North, the Inner Sound to the West, Loch Kishorn
and Loch Carron to the South and by a line roughly following the A896 to the East. Figure 1 shows the
location of the Peninsula and Figure 2 the topography and road access.
